A welcome letter from Mrs. Gignac
Hi! I am the new Indigenous Liaison at Isabel Campbell Public School. I would like to take
some time to introduce myself. My name is Loriann Gignac. I am a mother to six wonderful
children and a grandmother to four. In my spare time I enjoy crafting, making Indigenous Art,
sewing, gardening, cooking. I love the mountains and camping with my family. I also volunteer
with the non-profit organization Traditional Paths Society. I am a member of the Sturgeon Lake
First Nation in Treaty Six Territory, which is located in Northern Saskatchewan. I have called
Grande Prairie home since 1981.
I am thrilled with my new post at Isabel Campbell Public School. I am also an Indigenous Liaison at
Ecole Montrose and Derek Taylor. I have been with the GPPSD since January 2022. I enjoy working
with children and helping students and families connect with their culture.
As your Indigenous liaison, I will continue to provide enhanced support to our students and
families within our schools that I work with. Please feel free to reach out to myself or my
Indigenous Programming Coordinator, Krista Umble, or even to our school’s principal Mr.Pepper, if
you have any questions or concerns about Indigenous Programming at Isabel Campbell
