Celebrating Creativity in GPPSD: Holiday Art Card Contest Winners Revealed
In a vivid display of artistic talent, the Grande Prairie School Division is proud to announce the winners of the annual Board of Trustees Holiday Art Card Contest. This year, the competition welcomed submissions from students in grades 9-12 across Bridge Network, Charles Spencer, and Grande Prairie Composite High Schools, centering around the theme Happy Holidays.
Kyler Pearen, a Grade 10 student from Grande Prairie Composite High School, won first place with watercolour artwork. The creation will be featured on the Board of Trustees' annual holiday card, sharing a piece of local student talent with the wider community.
Board Chair Joan Nellis expressed her admiration and thanks saying the level of creativity and skill displayed by students was inspiring. "On behalf of the Board, I extend a heartfelt thank you to all participants. Your contributions not only highlight your talents but also capture the festive spirit beautifully."
Winners Announcement:
- First Place ($200 Prize): Kyler Pearen, Grade 10, Grande Prairie Composite High School.
- Second Place ($150 Prize): Caitlyn Loewen, Grade 12, Charles Spencer High School.
- Third Place ($100 Prize): Kaitlyn Utz, Grade 12, Charles Spencer High School.
In addition to the top three awards, several students received honourable mentions, each earning a $50 prize for their outstanding work.
